With my #greatnorthrun number arriving this week and the race only 3 weeks away, this morning I gave up my favourite pastime (sleeping) to go for an 11 mile run. Safe to say it wasn't easy but I'm determined to do this for @mindcharity for all of the mental health support they offer and to break the stigma around mental health.

Pretty apt song for today. Trying to harness the power of being a morning person. I managed to get up at 5:30, walk the dog and head to @anytimefitnesswoking for a quick weight session so I could get into work early before the rest of my colleagues arrive and start dumping shit on my desk haha! Wearing @underarmour leggings and my #londonmarathon2017 'marathon queen' t shirt 😊😊😊

So we're coming to the end of #mentalhealthawarenessweek and I know I haven't been as visible in the context of being mentally healthy instead of physically healthy on here as I would have liked to have been as of late. It's been just a side note in other posts about breakfast or other fitness related junk. Truth is I have become a bit self critical and bogged down with figures recently and it's lead to a lack in motivation. So this morning I put on my @mindcharity t-shirt and went for a long run. Two things I haven't done since the marathon 3 weeks ago. I left all my tech at home and left my phone on plane mode and just ran. I was out for about 2 1/2 hours. I don't know how far I ran or how fast but I know how I feel. I got into running as a way to convince myself that I'm not totally rubbish and I am capable of achievements I never thought of, as depression will always want to tell you otherwise.
To anyone out there struggling, just remember your intentions and keep putting one foot in front of the other. No matter the distance. If you're living with mental illness you're always winning, even when you don't feel it. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

#rundone in 3:51:51. Good PB but gutted to have had to walk the last couple of miles due to an empty tank and miss my target time - guess the fuelling strategy will need a tweak for next time!
