The #stigma surrounding mental illness often interferes with men and women getting the help that they desperately need. I always appreciate it when famous athletes, artists and actors speak openly about their struggles with #mentalhealth.

Recently, actress #milano_alyssa wrote an essay in TIME about her #postpartum #anxiety and I want to thank her for doing so! I hope it will help #endstigma and educate people that effective treatments are available!

Round two, day one.
Yup, you read that right. I woke up bright & early at 4 am for another Day ONE 🙈
A couple of weeks ago, I was wrestling with the idea of starting my 80 Day Program over vs. adding an extra week. I chose adding an extra week since I didn't want to feel like I was "giving up." .
Well, between getting sick ((again, dang it!)) I fell more than a week behind. Annnd I didn't want to go through the next several months feeling like I was behind, because let's be honest--that is not a good feeling. It made me reevaluate the plan. .

I know how it's like to do this program broken up by sicknesses, scans & the works--I want to know how it feels to crush it! So when my husband said he was starting his Day 1 today ((both him & my brother and law didn't start with my as originally planned because they were sick)) I told him, let's do this! I am thinking ALL the positive thoughts for my body to be HEALTHY throughout these 80 Days so I can do this dang thing consistently! .

As my trainer said this AM: I want you to say “yes” when everyone else would say “no.” YOU say yes. YES you CAN. You wake up, you get it done. .

It can be INCREDIBLY hard and frustrating to face setbacks when dealing with chronic illnesses. From thyroid probs, to side effects like anxiety & insomnia and alllll the way in between. But I never will doubt that I am not strong enough to continue to pursue health & happiness alongside chronic illness.

I AM stronger than this. And you know what? You are stronger than your struggle too. Today is a perfect day for a refresh & restart 💜💜💜

Hi all! 👋🏼 Hope your Monday and Week 3 is off to a great start! -
I started this Monday morning off with Karena’s Mindful Meditation, which was the perfect start to the day as I’ve been dealing with some pretty intense anxiety lately.
Before our vacation my car unexpectedly broke down and the stress has been really weighing on us. I was budgeting for a new car in a few years with no plans of getting rid of my current one anytime soon, so with this unexpected expense I’ve been feeling so stressed and unsettled lately.
I really needed to read these words from Karena today, “This week, we’re focusing on releasing stress and anxiety. We’re all faced with stress in our lives and that’s completely natural. What I want to explore is what if, when faced with these challenges, we make a decision to shift our perspective and find the positivity and light? What is the lesson we are meant to learn and how can it make us stronger? How can we share that lesson with others in our lives? You have the patience, strength, and the compassion to triumph through anything!”
I typically meditate at night but after this morning’s meditation my mindset completely shifted. I really enjoyed starting my day off this way. It also left me inspired to start a gratitude journal, where I am going to write down 3 things every morning that I’m thankful for.🙏✨
So this morning while trying to find some humor in this whole situation I realized: I’m walking more, feeling comfortable driving my husband’s truck, and saving money on car insurance. 😆 A bonus, we’re learning to share. 🚘 Haha -

I have high functioning anxiety. 👆🏻

I debated this post for a while (mainly because I’m still fighting this battle daily), but if we’re gonna be friends on #Instagram, you’re gonna get the real, raw version of me.

I also talk a big game on here about physical #health, and I think it’s fair to be open about some of my #mentalhealth journey, too. Most people would never guess due to my spiritual gift of making my like look cooler than it actually is. 😜 •

It hits harder each time; unknowingly giving me strength and courage to get up and try again, and again... God has a sense of humor giving me a growing therapist as my husband. ❤️

I guess it started 4 years ago after a failed IUD #birthcontrol reaction where ensued a wave of terrifying lack of control in my body I had not ever felt before. I grew up on the other-side of the equation watching loved ones battle on the outside only what was manifesting from the inside. Utter. Inner. Turmoil. 😐 So, quickly I began to understand fully what this whole “anxiety” this was about. I admit, I was mad at it, I shooed it away, and even tried praying it away.

At first, I fought it with my “thoughts and prayers” hoping that my loving God would spare me inner torment of myself and outer misunderstanding for those around me. I shamed myself about it, too. Which is the worst thing you can do for yourself in moments like these. And after consistent, frequent episodes, hope begins to wither into the dust of, “I guess this is just the way it is.”

But today, I won this battle. Not only did I fully allow myself to feel, I allowed myself to be seen at the grasp of hands & hearts of some really amazing women in my life who see my struggle.

So how am I winning over this battle? I’m reaching out. I’m not condemning. I’m opening up. I’m depending on others. I’m being honest with myself. And I’m doing a lot of watching of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. because I’m forever addicted & nostalgia. 😋
