Day 1 of #mindfulmantras. I don't know about anyone else but whenever we all (the dogs are under the duvet) get into bed, there are just moments of perfection. Nothing else matters and I am completely at peace. It's one of my favourite moments of the day.

MY MIND IS CALM AND MY SOUL IS TRANQUIL | This is a hard one for me. My mind is rarely calm and I would hesitate greatly before describing any part of me as tranquil. One of the big things I love about yoga, and why I practice it still, is that it helps to calm my mind. I get anxious a lot and social interactions zap a lot of my energy. I fall into depressive spells where nothing but self deprecating thoughts whirl and whirl inside my head like a tornado. But when I'm on my yoga mat, it's like that tornado of thoughts and images slowly dissipate. I find a bit of space and really CONNECT with my breath. It helps calm me. I would never claim I'm in a constant state of calm or tranquility, but when I'm mindful and allow space for it, it can grace me with its presence. ⠀

I missed yesterdays mindful mantra. But it is something I live by daily. And the reason I have decided to get my BA in Social Science and possibly continue on to law school. Because "My Potential to Succeed in INFINITE" I may be 41 years old but I am just getting starting! There’s so much to be thankful for. We don’t often take time out of our busy lives to think about all of the beautiful things and to be thankful for them. If we did reflect on those things, we would realize how very lucky and fortunate we really are. I am very thankful for the love of my husband-which is so complete and fulfilling and is based on honesty, equality, intellectualism and romance. I am very thankful for the love of my children-which is all encompassing and is based on teaching, tenderness, sensitivity, caring, and hugging.
