Gratitude: Veterans Day always stirs up mixed emotions in our home. I guess it's because I have the honor and privilege of loving a veteran and men whom are brothers to him. They carry with them scars so deep that society will never truly understand or appreciate. It's more than a bullet wound or a mental health issue. It's a mark on their hearts and minds that keeps them forever connected to a time in their lives that they experienced life/death, fear/peace, joy/depression, love/hate at the same time. Honoring them is so much more than a free meal or cup of coffee( but thank you to all that give those things). Honoring them is saying I may never know the depth of your personal experience but I thank you for living it.
To all you warriors, I love you. I love your salty, feisty, passionate, deep love for life, country and your fellow brothers. Thanks for keeping us honest.
To all the female veterans I have had the privilege getting to know these past three years: You my lovely ladies are what real woman are made off. I am honored to call you friend. Thank you for serving! #veteransday #militaryministry
