Such a treat last night to get to see the Italian premiere of Sophie Boutros' 2016 film "Solitaire" in the same room as Sophie herself! The movie (a dark comedy - but don't be afraid of the "dark!") tells the story of a Lebanese mom excited to meet her daughter's fiancé and his family, only to learn that they're Syrian (her brother was killed at the hands of Syrians). Very moving and hilarious film worth seeing! There are two more days to see movies in the Middle East Now festival lineup - and on Sunday at Cinema Stensen there's a second showing of "Last Men in Aleppo", which highlights stories of the White Helmets in Aleppo.
