I vividly remember working in a makeup store years ago, and a much older woman sharing with me what she described as the ONE thing she wished she could get through to young people:
That was to always treat your eye area with a gentle hand.
I really took that to heart and I’ve learned a lot about this since that day. I’m grateful that she shared this tip with me so today’s #protiptuesday is dedicated to her, wherever she may be.
Pressing your eye products in is important, because the skin around your eyes is much thinner and more delicate than the skin on the rest of your face. Pulling and tugging on it can be damaging and can even increase the signs of aging (WRINKLES)! This is also why eye creams are so different from your regular moisturizer. The molecular size of the ingredients in eye products is much smaller, allowing it to penetrate that thinner skin!
My two favorite eye creams are from @bioelements:
The Multi-Task Eye Cream is a simple, yet effective everyday product. The light, bendable formula targets dark circles and puffiness while also brightening and hydrating.
For more mature skin, I absolutely love the Quick Refiner for Eyes. This formula boosts cell-turnover (yes, please!) while brightening, hydrating and treating fine lines and wrinkles. Be sure you wear this one with a sunscreen!
One of my favorite tips is actually to use the @beautyblender #micromini to apply my eye products. It’s the perfect size and shape for the area, and, once wet, I find it to be much more comfortable than using my fingers. Since you get two Minis in a package ($18) you wind up with one for your cosmetics and one for skincare. (Be sure to wet it and squeeze it out well first so it doesn’t absorb or dilute your expensive products!) Thanks for reading and I hope that helped a bit! Happy #tuesday!
