Tonight I had the privilege of hearing a man speak about his experience with being an undocumented US citizen who has lived here for 90% of his life, has a master degree and can't use it because he doesn't have a 9 digit number printed on a peice of paper. And so he protests for the right to a clearer path to citizenship, for him and others like him. I was moved. The dream act is not enough. There are people in this country who have worked hard and contributed to the success of this nation and it's leadership and they are not being recognized as citizens. Even though the work on our roads, our homes, in our restaurants and our businesses, start their own businesses, help raise awareness and funds for political candidates....and what do they have to show for it????? A masters degree that they can't use, a life lived in constant fear and secrecy. It's not right. More can be done to help.
