‘Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t’ 💫
6 months ago I was struggling to do any small amount of plyo exercise, jogging, or even heavier weights without my pelvis feeling unstable and sore. If I tried, I’d be so sore the following day I’d struggle to walk properly for the first hour of the day, and I’d tell myself again and again not to bother trying to push my body again. It didn’t seem worth it, as much as mentally I was so down about the whole situation. Pregnancy and labour really did a number on my pelvis, and last April it destabilised again to such a point where I was relegated to walking only for a couple of months.
But I’ve been as patient as I can over the last 9-10 months, had my treatments, taken my rest periods and supplements, listened to my body, stepped back in the exercise I could do, and waited until my body felt right again.
There is NO better feeling as an athlete and fitness addict, to finally feel free of that pain and restriction.
Running lately has been something kind of awesome. I actually hate running, but in feeling as strong as I currently am during a run both physically and mentally - I’m actually starting to kind of like it...😋🏃🏼♀️👟💪🏼✨
