“Passive people take themselves out of the greatest of all stories. Their own.” “You can be happy or you can be miserable. The amount of energy required is the same.” There was a time that was a victim to my own self. Decided that life was hard, and I felt bad for myself. I was ornery, and annoyed all the time. Anyone that knows me personally would want to kill me for ever feeling like that. I have a pretty good gig over here in my life.. But still.
I was lacking two things in that mindset. First and most obvious, gratitude. But secondly, I had decided to take myself out of my own story. Which. Is SUCH A WEIRD THING TO DO!
We are only here for a very short, very busy, very finite amount of time. Our kids grow too fast, our skin sags too fast, and our memory fades WAY too fast. It’s all a quick ride. And if you are not intentional about making it what you want, in a pretty quick second your opportunity will be gone. Don’t be the victim to your life. Be the creator.
And PSA.. You don’t need money, a husband, or a house on the beach to do that.
People that have all of that are still miserable, and people that have much less are thrilled to be here.
Start where you are, use what you have. And make your life the best that you can... (ps.. I just spit that last sentence right out. It wasn’t even a Dr. Suess quote! YYYAAASSSS!!)
