The word on the street is: Love Wins.
A few of you have DM’d me asking why I celebrate pride. I celebrate pride for the countless times I have been called a F*g**t, for all the times I have been bullied and harassed, for the times I have been refused service and entry at stores, for the times I was made to feel like a lesser human while donating blood, and for all the ways I have been discriminated against as a gay person of color. I celebrate pride because it took me over a decade to rid feelings of shame for simply existing, loving, and being loved. Lastly, I embrace pride as a means of visibility to affect change, to transform a world’s hate to love, because love wins. Always, always, always.
