On October 6, I sustained an injury that led to reconstructive knee surgery on November 17. I feel a little stronger each day, and am thankful for the wisdom and guidance from my primary care doctor, the surgeon, and my physical therapy team. I’m fortunate to have been able to take an extended leave of absence from work, to focus solely on my recovery. From the beginning, I have been determined this will not be a life-limiting event. I’ve learned lots of lessons and experienced much grace during this season of restoration and renewal, and will continue to sort through it all in the days, weeks, and months ahead as my recovery progresses. Today I thought I’d share my little gallery of “favorite things” that have been beneficial in my journey, everything from powerhouse nutrition to support for aching muscles to the problem no one shares with you - how to keep all the Velcro in an ACL brace looking fairly presentable! I’ll revisit this post and share more about my experiences, but physical therapy awaits me today! It’s a full time job!
