Ahhh I’ve been literally thinking about this caption for the past three days now, so here we go.... •

I had a client ask me the other day how it’s so easy for me to stick to a diet or clean eating.... and I responded with “it never used to be easy, and I’ve struggled and had a lot of defeat along the way”
What do I mean by this? Well..... let’s start with the fact that... two years ago I literally didn’t know a single thing about dieting, I would experiment with different things and try and eat what I thought was best. 🤷🏼‍♀️ basically I was lost.

When I started competing everything started to make sense, what foods did what for your body. I loved how I looked when I competed, I did really well my first three shows....

Okay fast forward. This time last year I was in prep for my fourth show The Arnold 2017. I did everything I was supposed to, & that was the best I had ever looked. So I had two shows planned after The Arnold and I completely lost control of eating, I mean absolutely the worst I have ever ate in probably 5-6 years.

I was eating things I never would have ever ate, spoonfuls of peanut butter and Nutella, I was eating ice cream with peanut butter, literally like any combination of food I was eating and I was doing it when no one saw me because everyone I was close with knew I had a show in 6 weeks. Long story short I was very unhappy and unpleased with myself my next two shows

OKAY NOW TO THE PART I HOPE EVERYONE CAN RELATE TO....

I learned, and I made mistakes but you have to fail to succeed. Of course not everyone needs to be dieting and eating like a competitor if you just want to be healthy, I learned how to not binge eat food. I know what it feels like to fall off of your schedule or lose all control, I know what it feels like to gain weight like crazy! I can relate to that!

I’ve learned little tricks and things you can do to prevent that from happening again, if you’re struggling ask questions below and I’ll do my best to answer and give you alternatives 💕❤️

But don’t give up on yourself because we have to go through these things to teach us, don’t get frustrated with yourself, learn from it and move forward!

Gym membership or not, kids or no kids, injury or no injury, full-time job or part-time... If sheer lack of time was the biggest factor, that can be thrown into the list too.

I can't tell you how many times I have heard excuses from someone as to why they could not get on or stay on a plan, while others with far more debilitating factors at play are still able to get it done. If it's not plain laziness it could be their inability to see the big picture; unable to piece everything together. -
Any type of diet and training plan can be constructed based on your specific lifestyle and individual preferences (large or small meals, frequent or less frequent eating, exercising indoors or outdoors, etc). It boils down to how bad you want it. It's no wonder that so many struggle to maintain a healthy weight, let alone possess enough knowledge to physically transform their physique. Many don't think twice about taking their car to a mechanic for a repair or hiring someone to paint their house, but somehow it's different in the context of learning how to eat properly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The opportunity is available to hire a coach no different than it is to hire a specialist that is able to see the bigger picture that you can't. Often times, it's simply a lack of guidance and to understand that perfection is not necessary, but consistency is. Listen attentively and TRUST THE PROCESS- not your own intuition that brought you to this point.

How did I do this🤔?
.
• Roast up cauliflower tossed in coconut oil, curry powder, salt & pepper🌱
.
• Sauté onion until translucent✨
.
• Blend half the amount of cauliflower roasted, all of your sautéed onions, and add coconut milk (or cream)🥛
.
• This is the base of your dish🤗
.
• Add remaining cauliflower to base🍃
.
• Season with curry powder, turmeric, cayenne pepper, & garlic🌶
.
• In a pan with coconut oil you will fry thick tofu pieces🍲
.
• I added the remaining coconut milk to the pan with curry powder and cayenne, so the tofu would marinate and suck in the flavour while getting golden brown👌
.
• Add tofu to main dish🍛
.
• Add red pepper last, so it isn’t soggy and a bit of crunch remains🍅
.
• Let stew together😍
.
• Using portobello mushrooms, slice into steaks🍄
.
• Sauté mushrooms in coconut oil, honey, and I sprinkle a light amount of cinnamon on top🍯
.
• Plate with rice, spinach, curry mixture, & portobello mushrooms🍚
.
• Garnish with chives and with a side of baked naan bread🍞
