Kali, the fierce one. She who sees herself thru her own eyes.
I'm happy to live at a time where feminism is growing. At the same time, there's still much work to be done.
Too many people still struggle to understand what feminism is all about. Then, we need to explain: it's about equality.
It's about integration. And it's about undoing something that's been going wrong for too long. The dominance of the tough over the kind. What a waste.
Time for a transformation, Kali would say.
See, there's 2 sides of ourselves. Of pretty much everything. We can call it yin and yang, shiva and shakti, muscle and feeling, action and self-awareness. Whatever you want to call it, both sides must coexist in harmony if we are to exist in harmony. This is not rocket science.
I also see the feminist movement being about humanity growing up. Evolving beyond our own brute, exploitive tendencies. And embracing sensitivity and cooperation in our hearts and minds and actions. Ultimately, I see it about creating an environment that fosters the inner world to develop, where feeling, art, music, imagination and creativity thrive.
So, I have 2 things to say here.
First, to men: I believe that all men must embrace equality as a way of life and become active voices for feminism. For integration and cooperation to TRUMP over dominance and exploitation, men must rise to the challenge.
And second, to women: keep your roots. Keep your strength and your softness. Remember that there's magic inside you. Never conform. Never bow down.
You're not here to fit into no-ones' little fantasies about you. Or fears about you.
Keep seeing yourself thru your own eyes.
