Many people get so stuck in their heads that the whole day rushes by without them even realizing. Here's an idea: Set an alarm that goes off throughout the day, five or six times, at random times. When the alarm goes off, use it as a prompt to bring yourself out of your head and into the present moment. Take five long, deep breaths and scan through the five senses, taste, touch, smell, sight, hearing, fully immersing yourself in them (obviously take caution when driving!).
