That time I went to #MedinaCafe 2 days in a row 😂
The first 2 photos are the Cassoulet ($17) - smoked bacon, andouille sausage, saucisson a l'ail (French garlic sausage), white beans, topped with 2 sunny-side-up eggs, and served with a piece of grilled focaccia.
I found that it wasn't as good as the cassoulet from Tour De Feast.
Fricassee ($19) - braised short ribs, roasted potatoes, caramelized onions, Applewood smoked cheddar, topped with arugula and 2 eggs sunny-side-up, and served with grilled focaccia.
The braised short ribs were inconsistent in terms of fattiness… some pieces were quite dry, while a few were nice and fatty, however I still enjoyed this more than the Cassoulet.
Paella ($16) - orzo, spicy chorizo sausage, seasonal veggies, with grana padano, spicy charred tomato salsa, cherry tomatoes, and avocado.
This was my first time trying paella, so I don't know how it compares. But this was my favourite dish from Medina so far! I loved the rice… it was thicker, soft, and the exterior was pleasantly smooooth!! I loved the addition of avocado as it balanced out the stronger flavours of the other components of this dish.
[tl;dr] Pricey and long wait, but not particularly amazing brunch food.
