Starting tomorrow 1/13/17, I will be off social media for 40 days. I guess you can call it a #mediadetox . This is very much needed so I can try and focus on the important things in life. I want to find myself rather than having social media do it for me. I challenge anyone willing to do this detox, or anyone who thinks they can survive without sm for 40 days. I promise after those 40 days I will be back and better than ever. I promise.

Work on it. Spend time with family and friends. Do something fun AND NOT POST ABOUT IT. Lol the internet is not going anywhere. Many of us think that we are in control and total awareness by watching certain news, reading certain newspapers and withdrawing certain kind of information from certain kind of sources, blindly trusting and believing that which is projected into our minds, not knowing what horrific programming we are undergoing, creating more hate, violence, poverty and a harming of the collective consciousness. When we are presented with a piece of "information" that creates either fear or hate, we are sending out these signals as waved from our bodies and projecting it out to the world. Worse, we sometimes choose to continue spreading these biased and extreme stories in order to "awake" others by displaying statements and actions of a few "politicians" and others in "power" which in turn creates a sense of hopelessness and powerlessness. Why would we continue subjecting ourselves to daily slavery and torture, instead of going to the source itself, finding the causes and affect and then taking actions on it in the best way we can ourselves. Especially for empaths; watching and listening to negativity beaming from news and others, create more harm to oneself and others. It is crucial for us to be aware of the state of mankind, but it is also important to focus on the solution and not the problem. If we all spend those 30 minutes per day to proactively support human beings and organisations that are fighting for peace and human rights, instead of becoming helpless stand-byers, we would more affectivly archive the changes that we want to see. Do not stare blindly at the news and think that this is reality! Start finding others that are creating significant changes and start focusing your energy into that. We are all aware that change needs to happen, let us all in one way or the other, support that through the way we live, the way we eat and the way we treat others. Lately, I feel as everything on these media platforms is a false perception of people's lives. As people are actually altering their actions just to get a good post...Or because they edit out the bad and only post the good.✋🏼

The happy couples that aren't truly that happy. The picture of your salad when you actually stopped to get fries on the way home. The picture of your a$$ that's borderline pornographic but it's ok because you hashtagged #fitlife.

Do you remember the days when you use to take pictures for your OWN memories? Print them out and share them with the people you were closest too ,tell them the stories behind them-rather then have them draw their own conclusions from behind a screen?

I myself have felt the addiction of mindless scrolling-and seen the impact of it on our youths self esteem. I've gotten off a page only to feel a little less happy but what I've seen.
