Here's why I love dogs.
We took a side road that we normally wouldn't on our walk today. That's where we met Caleb. As we took the corner, he saw Gypsy and waved hello to us. (She gets so much attention on our walks. People love her.) As soon as he called hello, she took off running straight towards him, dragging me behind her. The whole time I was yelling "she's very friendly!!" She ran right up to him and sat at his feet, letting him pet her. She NEVER does this. He started saying thank you to me for letting him pet her and told me that his dog had to be put down yesterday; he was on his way to bury him right then. 😭 He was so kind and kept thanking me for that therapeutic moment. Dogs can sense when they're needed and a total stranger needed her today.
