This is the battle of Breakfast vs Breakfast Balanced meal vs high-fat high protein meal ·
Those are two types of breakfasts to which your body may respond differently. Let's start with the left option - balanced meal - protein chia oatmeal with banana, raspberries and peanut butter.

You can read all over the internet that complex carbohydrates in the form of whole grains and fruits are the best base for a healthy breakfast and will keep you full for longer. I love this kind of breakfast and I think it is a great option after your morning workout.

The option on the right - high protein high-fat breakfast - hard boiled eggs, bacon, avocado and some veggies. Because of the fats, this breakfast should keep you full for longer.As a result, you will crave less food throughout the day and you can save your carbs for later. Definitely a smart choice. · ·

Losing weight can be hard. It's even harder when you eat out a lot. In my experience, processed foods and most restaurant foods have a lot of "hidden" calories in them. The oils, sauces and seasonings produce more calorie dense foods with a higher fat content and sodium level than what you cook at home.

When possible I like to cook as many of my own meals as possible. The result is a lot more volume and nutrients in my diet. It also makes it a lot easier to stick to my diet when i'm in a calorie deficit because I have a lot more to eat.

For instance (right side) a Carnitas burrito, guac & chips & diet coke from Chipotle will run you about 2000+ calories depending on your burrito fillings.

My prepped food (left side) includes: 1 cup whole grain corn puffs, 200 g plain Greek yogurt, 5 strawberries, 1 egg, 140 g pulled chicken (#justgetfitpulledchicken), 150 g baked yams, 2 cups broccoli, 125 g grilled chicken, Greek salad, broccoli, baby carrots, 50g oats, chocolate whey protein shake mixed with water + 2 Tbsp. Pb2, pecans, 1 whole medium avocado and 6 corn thins. Basically, A LOT MORE FOOD.

Just some food for thought 😀. While I would never argue that Chipotle isn't delicious, I just know that if I'm trying to stay in a calorie deficit, eating it won't keep me full throughout the day. What you do is up to you, but this might be something good to keep in mind. ♥

🍔 EASY FAST FOOD FIX 🍔

🚗 Sometimes you’re on the go-go-go and you don’t have the option to prep a nice healthy meal, or take the time to go anywhere other than fast food. I get it… it’s not optimal by any means, but it is reality for some of us. So instead of trying to avoid it, let’s discuss how you can make simple tweaks to your fast food order to stay on track as best as you can with your diet! Ready? Let’s dive in…

❌ The first thing I’d like to mention is that just because you’re eating fast food doesn’t mean your entire day is fucked (excuse my language)! It just means that this meal might be a little higher in calories than what you planned, or a little higher in one macronutrient than another, but this doesn’t mean the meal can’t fit. So let’s get that understood first!

👉🏼 Second, I’d like to mention that when eating fast food, there is AWLAYS a better option on the table (like you can see in the infographic above). Typically, grilled foods are better than fried foods when it comes to total calories, and avoiding liquid calories all together is another simple hack.

😁 So, if you’re on your way to lunch, or dinner, and fast food is the only option, don’t stress it. Just do your best to make the meal fit, and have moderate control over total calories consumed. Got it?

👏🏼 Plus, you’re human, so if you want to have fast food every now and then, do it. Just realize that it’s not optimal, probably not the healthiest choice you could be making, and it might not realllyyyyy be worth is as much as you think it will. Regardless, enjoy your life and do your best with what you can!
