Well this is it. 3.5 years of classes, 7 review books, over 3000 pages, 11 full-length 7 hour practice tests, 1000+ flash cards, hundreds of study hours, dozens of energy drinks, and a really great study partner all leading up to tomorrow at 8:00 am. To say I’m excited to get this MCAT over with doesn’t even scratch the surface. Let’s do it!

I keep saying this to myself when I feel I’m not good enough, or smart enough to be a doctor 👩🏽‍⚕️ and I wanted to share this with everyone who sometimes feels the same way as me! #nontraditionalstudent #gradschool #gradstudent #medicine #premed #mcat #mcat2018 #mcatjourney

Officially obsessed… Usually not an iced coffee drinker but this cold brew is pretty good and bonus, the can is super pretty 💚☕️.

📚 MCAT Advice Monday 📚 I’ve been getting a lot of questions from people asking if they should push their tests back if they aren’t ready....99% of the time, my answer is YES!!
.
.
.
Give yourself enough time to study that you are able to reach your goal score. Don’t rush it. You’re taking (or re-taking) a 7.5 hour test…it is not worth it to rush if you won’t feel prepared to take it. Will your applications get reviewed a little later? Probably, but that’s why you are going to want to have your applications in before you get that score back, so as soon as those committees receive your score, it will go right to review.
.
.
.
Bottom line: rushing to take a test as huge as the MCAT is not worth it, you will just end up retaking it. .

I’ve been terrible at keeping up w/ insta lately😒. Life has been so crazy but I’m gonna try to do a better job w/ posting about my Med journey again! 😉 so, many know I was gonna take mcat LAST summer before taking orgo chem & physics. Yeah, that was a little to difficult lol so I postponed it. I planned on taking it next week but I AGAIN postponed it to aug 18th. I just didn’t have time this last sem w/ my course load & working full time & half marathon training 😬. Plus I was SO exhausted. I’ve taken a diagnostic test & OMG, who agrees w/ me that this exam is a monster?!?! Thank God I postponed it. Still, 3 months to study while working full time is going to be a major challenge to get a good score. Sometimes I still question myself everyday about going back for this second career, in MEDICINE. Then something happens at work & I think YES this is what I wanna do!!! I’m so thankful for some pretty awesome professors I’ve had along the way & some pretty great friends I’ve made in my premed classes. One being @angelikatoquica. We made it through a year of physics together & now, taking mcat on same day & same place!! Thankful for her!!!😊🌸💖 #premed #premedlife #futuremd🎓 #futuredoctor #futurepa #mcat2018 #mcatprep #mcatstudying #mcatisdeath #premedproblems #emergencymedicine #criticalcare #familymedicine #wecandothis #workhardplayhard #goforit #dreambig #womeniedicine #mcatjourney #premedjourney #fromrdtomd

Ok ok... I haven’t done any CARS in a few weeks! This is unacceptable so I need to make #CARS a priority again! These passages were really hard and I kept second guessing myself! Ugh I really dislike this section of the exam! #MCAT2018 #mcat #mcatCARS #mcatstudying #mcatprep #mcatjourney

GAP YEAR post is live, link in profile!
I’m in Las Vegas right now, just me and my mom❤️
Something I probably wouldn’t have been able to do had I not taken a gap year. I didn’t travel much during this year, but being able to spend quality time with my family has been the absolute best part of it. Taking this trip is a bonus, but you defiantly don’t need to go far to appreciate how nice it is just to have fun with the fam.

Spent half the day running errands and the rest at @panerabread working on some paper work and eating salads, sipping on some green juice and taking bites out of our chocolate chip cookies (not pictured). Overall it’s been a great day. We are wishing good luck to all those who are approaching the MCAT. Don’t hesitate to put your personal goals first 💛

NOW POSTED ON THE BLOG:
How I improved my MCAT score by 8 points (link in bio)
.
.
.
Retaking the MCAT was probably the most horrifying thing I had to accept during my reapplication process...But you know what? I learned a lot about myself. I learned that I was smarter than I thought I was, could study harder than I ever thought I could, and wanted to be a doctor so badly that I didn’t want anything, especially the MCAT, to stop me. .
.
.
In the end, learning all of those things about myself made me feel more confident going into the application process. I felt more confident in the interviews, and also more confident in myself that I would be able to handle medical school.
.
.
.
All in all, retaking the MCAT made me more confident in my ability to do well in medical school, and I believe that confidence is exactly what I needed in order to finally get accepted.
