Today we returned for the first time in years to the ancient Horkstow church. It's changed a little but i haven't. An ancient folk song associated with this place gave the band Steeleye Span their name. #Horkstow #hull2017 #matthopperart
I dunno why but I used to find ASL hilarious son8 wrote a song. You'd be in a chat room and some freak would message you "ASL". Is it still a thing? 47/M/Hull doesn't sound so cool. When I wrote this "song" my ASL was 33/M/Hull. I added the FB part later as it didn't exist then. How time flies! Lots of vintage arcade sounds too.
My #DailyWood . Warm September day. Saw a late dragonfly. Will that be the last one I see? Today's wood was three. A troika. The IMF, the ECB and the Commission! Lord of the Rings audiobook: the old wood! Older than mine, no doubt! A tree tried to eat the hobbits but Tom Bombadil rescued them. I know he has his fans but i always thought he was a twat. Is that wrong?
My #DailyWood . Another warm September day. A slightly melancholy time of year. I always wonder if this is the last T-shirt day. Today's wood was pretty big. Had to drag it some of the way between my legs. Today in my Lord of the Rings audiobook, the chaps reach their new home in Crickhollow, only to leave on their quest that very night. Into the old dark woods! They left poor Fatty Bolger to take care of the home and even dressed him as Frodo to divert the ring wraiths!! I always thought that was cruel! It's a shame Jackson left Fatty out of the movies. He left out way too much and added needless stuff. Not a fan of the films.
My #DailyWood . Lovely warm September day. Enjoyed the walk in the woods very much and came home with an average piece of wood. Today in my Lord of the Rings audiobook farmer Maggot rode the party of adventurers to the ferry. Ring wraiths are everywhere!
Pulled an all nighter last night getting a print order ready for my upcoming show so I didn't feel like going out to get my #DailyWood. Instead, here's something I saw last time. A dead hawk. No visible injury. Could it gave been shot? Taken down by an owl? Never seen anything like it. Not around the Bricknell estate area, anyway.
Made this on the first year of my art degree. Swipe to see its story! It's a large concrete sculpture of council houses with a stone circle at its centre. It was really difficult and took a lot of planning and hard work. But it was worth it. It's in my garden now, covered in crap.
