Making the trek down to Louisiana to train for these last four months is easily up there as one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I learned a tremendous amount of knowledge pertaining to the biomechanics of an elite athlete, pitching, Olympic lifting, mobility, nutrition, and just becoming an overall healthier person. I truly believe I wouldn't have hit 90+ on the gun if not having been introduced to the explosive power of Olympic weightlifting. I've grown not only as an athlete, but if not more so as a person. The friendships that were made are guaranteed to last a lifetime. There aren't many other guys out there that are willing to commit and push themselves and each other to their physical and mental limits each and every day like we do, and that's a testament to the character that each of you guys possess. Thanks for educating, mentoring, spotting, gunning, and videoing.

TRX ROW: I use this exercise a lot with my athletes as it's a great way to strengthen the upper back. TRX are great to use because no matter what movement you are doing with them you have to control your movements which works on stability, especially with an exercise like a row so we can work on that scapular movement and control.
Keys 🔑:
1) As you pull your chest to the handles, squeeze those shoulder blades together.
2) You can start more upright and as you progress through you can start lowering yourself and get to an angle like I am at in the video ⚾⚾⚾⚾

Congratulations to @cruzdaddario on signing with Sacramento State. Cruz broke though with sitting 91-92mph a few weeks ago. The video resulted in strong offers from numerous schools, and in a day and age of baseball kids crowing about 25% scholarships, Cruz will be going to school for free for his last 2 years, even with one of those having to sit out as a transfer.
Cruz started with us the summer before his senior year of high school. While he displayed good athleticism, he was desperately lacking several key abilities for a pitcher, namely hip mobility and strength. It was a patient process to be able to even get him in correct POSITION to be able to deadlift. Nevertheless he made good progress throughout the year and went 8-0 on the mound (Nevada subdivision). Despite his onfield success, the questionable competition his record was accomplished with, and his underwhelming 83-85mph velocity left him going to a D6 school. However, where most would get discouraged and envious of others "ahead of them", Cruz never lost faith in The Process. He continued to put his head down, invest in himself, and work. He returned last summer to train and was still a flat 85 at the start. However, he continued to train hard, and began to add significant size. He rocketed 405 vertical shin flat back deadlift this past winter, and we knew with the good baseball qualities he has in his shoulder, coupled with his massively increased power in his hips, his breakthrough was imminent. His 91-92 video through a Stalker 2 gun created much interest, and now he is off to a D1 school that made the CWS last year for free. In our opinion though this is just the beginning; he is still scratching the surface on how hard he will eventually throw. Provided with health and God's favor, he is positioning himself for a nice payday in the MLB draft in 2 years.

Here's a great exercise to work on using your legs as you explode forward when throwing a pitch or throwing in general. Also works the shoulder on the overhead toss. I showed two different ways you can do this, the first one is with a step and the second one is having both feet planted in the power position.
Keys 🔑:
1) Release and throw the ball downward towards the ground as if you are reaching out to finish your throw.

PALLOFF PRESS: This is one of the most common anti-rotational exercises I use with my athletes. Anti-rotational exercises help build core strength and stability which can aid in preventing injury from a sudden rotation.
Keys 🔑 :
1) keep the band in the center of your body and push straight out.
2) don't let the band allow you to rotate back in (hence anti-rotation)
