📝Here are a few drills I like to use for return to sports knee rehab. This is @zeekazi who is here from Stockholm to rehab and train with us at @healthy_baller for 6 weeks. He's made huge strides in just 10 days. This is ACL Rehab, 4 months out. Thanks so much for coming Zee.
✅These are mostly lateral and linear jump patterns. The height of the box, the number of hurdles, the speed of movement, the intensity, how much I cue him to push it, whether a jump is bilateral or unilateral, etc. are all modifying factors that are dependent on the phase of rehab.
🤔Knee rehab = knee rehab. The exercises aren’t assigned to a specific injury. There’s no reason why this couldn’t be 5 weeks after an MCL sprain with a non-surgical approach. Or after a meniscus or PCL tear. Or even LCL! You get the point…
🏈Keep in mind: phases of rehab don’t have exact timelines. Don’t just blindly use protocols. Use your eyes, use natural progression, use objective numbers and subjective feedback to decide when to take the next step.
