Hello makeup darlings! It's time for another round of #PamelasMakeupTips for #tiptuesday!
First of all, let's talk about this lippy. Justin surprised me with 4 different colors of this metallic gloss. It looks crazy going on! It's very high shine, which is fun on occasion. So far this and the pink are my fav. It's from a company called Sigma and the gloss is called Lip Switch. I like it!
Second, I don't know if you know, but I LOVE mascara. It is my no. 1 desert island makeup pick. I don't believe in eyeshadow without mascara (I think it makes eyes look tiny) but mascara without shadow is always classy. I am extremely picky about how it is applied. I hate an uneven coat, and the kind of mascara you use can greatly impact how it goes on.
For the last five years I have been a dedicated Buxom only girl. I even attempted some other brands and would always, immediately, come back. I tried that Blinc tubing mascara that's supposed to never flake and only come off in hot water. It was awful. I've tried the super waterproof Makeup Forever one. Went on clumpy, was horrible to get off. And then various others that only ever lasted maybe two tries, tops.
But this week I finally tried the Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara and well... I'm in love. The brush is AMAZING. I like a solid, plastic brush because I can get down into the base of my lashes, and separation is much easier. I find fluffy brushes generally don't mesh into the lash, making it hard to coat completely and generally causing a lot of mess. Anything that dries too fast tends to get clumpy, but if it stays wet for too long, you're likely to smudge.
Both the Tarteist and the Buxom mascaras go on smooth, they can be layered for more volume without getting clumpy, and both dry in a decent amount of time. I found the Tarteist flaked a little and I had some smudges under my eye by the end of the day (something that doesn't happen with Buxom) but I really liked the matte black finish and the extra volume I got was worth a little under-eye darkness. So, for anyone looking for an easy to use, all purpose mascara, I recommend trying one or both!
Do you have a favorite mascara? Let me know. I probably want to try it! 💋🖤
