“I had built a prototype of an easel for Willem de Kooning. De Kooning’s assistant called and said ‘Look. We’ve exhausted a lot of avenues to find out a way help Bill to lift and turn his paintings, and we’ve brought in designers, architects, and people with backgrounds in engineering and so forth. And they don’t get it. You’re a practical guy. You do the nuts and bolts of this stuff, and so on, besides you have an art background. Can you come up with some kind of a design for an easel?’ This was in the early 70s.” - #MarshallDidier from the second issue of #ArtHandlerMagazine #ComingSoon
