“Praying in the Garden” 6/8 large commissioned paintings for NeSoDak at Lake Enemy Swim that were created during my residency with their young campers! What I loved so much about making these pieces was NeSoDak had no set guidelines. They let me do whatever I chose on each canvas in collaboration with campers which gave me the ability to tap into the kids creative brains and let them take the reigns. 💜💜 #marleehayesart

Today was Day✌️of my 2 week artist residency at the Suzie Cappa Art Center, downtown Rapid City! 🎨 If you haven’t heard of the Suzie Cappa Art Center go check out their website! (link in my bio) They are a studio and gallery that employ artists with disabilities through Black Hills Works. It’s an incredible organization that provides a supportive, inspiring environment where artists create, exhibit, and sell their work to the community. There is nothing like it in the region. All artistic materials are provided, and mentoring is regularly offered by professional artists, volunteers, and Black Hills Works employees throughout the year. Their studio and gallery are open to the public Monday through Saturday and you can interact with the artists as they work in the studio Mondays through Fridays. If you’re in the Rapid City area the next 2 weeks come say hi! #marleehayesart ❤️🎨

“Lake Water” 5/8 large commissioned paintings for NeSoDak at Lake Enemy Swim that were created during my residency with their young campers! What I loved so much about making these pieces was NeSoDak had no set guidelines. They let me do whatever I chose on each canvas in collaboration with campers which gave me the ability to tap into the kids creative brains and let them take the reigns when it came to creative planning, execution & development.💙#marleehayesart

“Make Your Mark”
4/8 large commissioned paintings for NeSoDak at Lake Enemy Swim that were created during my residency with their young campers! We started this piece with brushes and then one child asked if they could put their handprint on it and the rest is history! What I loved so much about making these pieces was NeSoDak had no set guidelines. They let me do whatever I chose on each canvas in collaboration with campers which gave me the ability to tap into the kids creative brains and let them take the reigns when it came to creative planning, execution & development. Zoom in to see all the little layered handprints! 🖐🏼🎨💕#marleehayesart

A few weeks ago I dropped off this commission & 3 others in Omaha for my amazing client @channing1187 ! Channing was one of my very first clients who purchased my artwork in grad school when I first started painting and has commissioned the most work from me to date! 🖤🖤This piece, like many of mine can be hung any direction *swipe left to see vertical* 🎨 #marleehayesart

I’ve just begun my 3 week Arts Council Residency at Enemy Swim Lake! I’m so excited to share what I’m most passionate about with campers & staff at NeSoDak through hands on workshops and demos. Plus focus on creating some amazing new stuff for marleehayes.com ! For those of you on my commission list I hope to have them all completed by the end of my residency! Thank you all for your support! xx #marleehayesart
