Van der Sar signed for Manchester United in June 2005 for a reported fee of £2million, with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson considering him the best goalkeeper to have ever played for the club since Peter Schmeichel. In January 2009, Van der Sar helped the Red Devils set a new club and Premier League record of 11 consecutive clean sheets. During his time at United Van der Sar had won 4 Premier League titles, the League Cup, 3 Community Shields, the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. He was named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year in 2007, 2009 and 2011, and won the Premier League Golden Glove in 2009. Van der Sar also holds a number of impressive records - he is the oldest player to win the Premier League and oldest goalkeeper to win the Champions League, and holds the world record for most minutes without conceding a League goal (1,311 minutes set in 2008-09). The legendary Dutchman has the most ever clean sheets in the UEFA European Championship alongside Iker Casillas. In 2016, Van der Sar became the CEO of Ajax Football Club, where he began his playing career in 1990.
