A drone photo of a reef manta ray (Manta alfredi). As well as Komodo dragons, manta rays are the main attraction for tourists visiting Komodo National Park in Indonesia. There are two famous manta sites in the park, and 'Manta Alley' off the southern edge of Komodo Island is only accessible by the larger liveaboard boats. Here, the water is considerably colder than in the north of the park and the visibility is usually a bit murkier. On this beautiful day however we were lucky to have crystal clear waters, and several mantas were feeding on zooplankton at the surface.
