Here's how I've been waterproofing my electronics and have been happy with the results (no failures to date). I got Liquid Tape from my local hardware store only bout $8-$10.
- Disassemble the the receiver and remove the electronic board.
- Coat the board with the Liquid Tape. Work it into and around all of the capacitors etc... Avoid getting the liquid tape on then pins.
- Apply 2-3 thin coats allowing each to throughly dry. If you power up when still wet it could conduct and short out your electronics.
- Carefully reassemble, don't compromise the seal you just created. (I remove the plastic pins on the receiver housing when I reassemble)
