It’s been a few days now since I’ve left Malta. I was not my plan to leave. I received a call on my birthday saying I had 36hours to leave the country and spent the day meeting with lawyers, booking flights and packing. I left the following day. When I arrived at the airport I discovered that this was un true and I did not have 36hours to leave Malta and had in fact done nothing wrong. Throughout my experience dealing with this immigration issue in Malta every government official I spoke with gave me conflicting advice. The law was different according to everyone, and no one was willing to be held accountable for their words or actions. Even the people that I paid to assist me refused any accountability. As such I have lost my apartment, my education, my internship, job prospects, my whole life in Malta, not to mention a lot of money. While @comedic_nomad Is unfairly left alone on the island to pick up the pieces of this mess. All due to the mistakes of government officials. Not a single person involved has showed any signs of sympathy. I planned on making a life in Malta, now I plan on never returning. Malta is paradise but the Maltese government made it living hell.
