Day 10 • tonight I decided to give y'all a mini tutorial on how I did my scratches because I had a bunch of people asking me for tutorials on my looks and I just happened to take pictures of me applying my scratches, so here's how I did it:
Step 1 • take a teaspoon of petroleum jelly and two teas spoons of flour and mix them together until you have a moldable mixture that isn't too hard or too runny.
Step 2 • roll out three or four little playdough snake lookin things and set them aside. Take your spirit gum OR eyelash glue and apply it to the area you want to stick your scratch. Make sure your GLUE gets a little tacky before applying your mixture or else it'll slide around and you'll be angry.
Step 3 • apply your lil playdough snake directly on to the glue. Press it down to make sure it's not going anywhere.
Step 4 • you're going to want to smooth down the sides of your ball so the middle is the highest point on your face. I used my finger for this one but the handle of a makeup brush works well too. I think when using your finger, you can get a more blended look and with will go seamlessly into your skin.
Step 5 • take the end of a makeup brush that's thin and rounded and carve into the center of your mold. This will be the scratch! Make it as deep as you want. I carved it about 3 quarters of the way in.
Step 6 • I noticed the scratches were a bit oily (because of the Vaseline) so I took some baby powder and covered them to take away shine. This is optional.
Step 7 • now all you have to do is color in your scratch. I mixed a deep red lipstick in with some black liner and I got a very good 'fresh blood' color. You can use fake blood for this, I just didn't have any laying around... what a shame.
Step 8 • obviously, my scratches WERENT my color so I covered them with concealer and powder and took some darker brown colors to make the area around the scratch look irritated and help it blend into my skin more.
I hope this was a helpful tutorial! If pictorials are something you can benefit from, I will try to do more!
