A little tough love coming your way…
At least a few times a week I have people say to me “I’m just way too busy, I don’t know how you find the time to fit regular exercise into your life.” It takes everything in me to not laugh out loud…because sometimes I feel like people are weirdly competitive about “who is busier?”. We are all super busy and life for everyone feels chaotic, but our “busy” can look vastly different and I choose to make my workouts a part of mine.
We all have the same number of hours in our days, but it’s how you choose to spend those hours that makes a difference. I don’t find the time…I MAKE THE TIME!!!!
I would rather MAKE time to take care of my health now through regular exercise and balanced nutrition, so I don’t have to make time for doctor’s appointments later. I’d rather focus my time and energy on preventing health issues, then spending time treating them later. There is always a risk of a serious health problem hitting you when you least expect it and for no reason at all; but I feel comfortable in knowing that if one does try to take me down, I’m doing everything in my power to ensure my body is ready to fight for me.
So yeah, I gave up sleeping in and watching late night TV and plowing through a bag chips in one sitting; but it’s worth every second. To be honest with you, because I get up earlier to start my day with a workout, I actually have more energy and feel like I am more productive throughout the day! Because I have made better choices around my nutrition, I feel so much better every day.
The next time you think to yourself; “I’m so busy and there is no time” …I would encourage you to pause and really think about your day. What do you choose to spend your hours? And if you are serious about wanting to make exercise a part your life, I promise there is enough time you just need to reassign it.
