Enes Kanter is a 25 year old center with 6 years of experience. At 6’ 11”, Kanter has been a consistent scorer and rebounder, averaging 11.3 points and 6.7 rebounds for his career. Last year he came off the bench, and put up 14 points and 6.7 rebounds. Kanter is currently on a 1 year $17.8M contract. He has a player option, so he can just leave this summer. The only negative thing about Kanter? His defense. The main reason why he came off the bench in OKC was because of his inability to play defense against other big men. Willy Hernangomez had better defensive numbers than Kanter this year. So that being said, Kanter could potentially just be a 1 year rental for the Knicks, and he isn’t even guaranteed to start this year. Don’t be surprised to see Willy in the starting lineup opening day. And remember, the Knicks have 4 centers on the roster currently, so maybe someone will get moved soon.
