Hi!! Ya know, I haven't properly introduced myself. My name is Eva and I'm originally from Seattle (west side!) but made the move to Maine last year!
Here's a few things to know about me: >> My cooking style: I think of cooking as telling a story -- whether it's my story, someone else's memory, or the story of the farmer who grew the ingredients. My food is made with love from scratch, and always focused around seasonal and local ingredients. >> Why I became a personal chef: Family dinner was such a unique and integral part of my cultural upbringing and my connection with food. For me, food is synonymous with family. My aim is to foster that communal experience and nourishment for other families. >> Why I moved to Maine: to be surrounded by more local small scale farmers who inspire me creatively! I'm amazed each day as to how welcoming the community here has been. >> What I offer: Weekly meal prep, grocery shopping, cooking classes, dinner parties, special events. These make for great gifts for a new family, a recently married friends, the busy couple with kids who deserve a break and more family time, and of course, for YOURSELF! >> Why I named my business Hunger is the Best Spice: It's a phrase my mother used to say when we would happily wolf her food down as kids. She was being modest, claiming we only loved it because we were hungry. But really it's because she's an incredible cook. I learned so much from her. >> My favorite food to cook: Whatever I'm currently craving. What am I craving lately you might ask? My 3-day slow roasted pork shoulder tacos!
