I’ve posted something similar before, but the message I’m about to display here is going to be slightly different than my past posts. Here, I’m going to tell you ladies to STOP PLAYING THE COMPARISON GAME! I say this for a few reasons:
1️⃣ You cannot believe everything you see on here—clearly I’m trying real hard to find some glimmer of abs in this picture😭 This could very well be true with some of the posts of those idols you’re aspiring to be! Angle, lighting, positioning and manipulating are what instagram flashes at us, folks!
2️⃣ You canNOT compare your chapter☝🏼to someone else’s chapter✋🏼🤚🏼. This doesn’t really reflect my photo here, but it’s very true in terms of the comparison-itis we face from time to time.
3️⃣ You are exactly where you’re meant to be at this very moment in your fitness transformation. Progress is individual, so comparing how far along you are as opposed to “Sally” who just so happens to be a genetic freak with a roaring metabolism....isn’t going to help you continue to progress.

The take away—understand that what you see isn’t always a reality and should never be compared to the amazing state that you’ve brought yourself to so far in your journey. Stay consistent with your goals and true to YOU, nobody else. REMEMBER: you are your only competition.

Adding non-starchy vegetables to get more fullness & micronutrients out your meal😁

1. Adding “zoodles” to pasta. Sometimes you just feel like having a big, like a biiig bowl of pasta, and adding zoodles to you regular pasta can kinda help with that while keeping the carbs down🍝🍝

2. As you saw in my recent post I luurve tatoes, but I also love to have them along side some roasted veggies (green pepper & zucchini in this photo) to get more volume of food. 🥔🥔

Non-starchy veggies are basically vegetables that have a very low carbohydrate content (which is almost every vegetable). These include, zucchini, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, butternut squash/pumpkin and any leafy greens like spinach & lettuce etc.

GROCERY HAUL🍉🍳🥕🧀🍓
Usually I get the same things but I try and always get something new just to find new favorites 😋 I’ll include a few meal ideas with some of the food! I also want to say that eating healthy DOES NOT have to be incredibly expensive, buy items that are in season. All of this totaled $40 @ ALDI. 👍🏼🤗
* TIP: have 90% of the groceries you buy be healthy options so it’s easier for you to stay on track 💙

Protein:
Chicken breast - cut up into chicken nuggets size and eat with bbq sauce or put in quesadilla (created a healthy new recipe 😍😋)
Ground beef
Turkey breast - add to scrambled eggs
Turkey breakfast sausage - NEW item (don’t usually like breakfast sausage but I’m giving it a shot)
Eggs - usually just use the egg white for low cal high protein option!
Fruit/Veggies:
Peaches
Strawberries
Watermelon - making salsa w/ this - I WILL SHARE THE RECIPE BC ITS SO GOOD🍉
Carrots - always eat with turkey & humus for a snack
Edamame - high protein source veggie!

Random items:
Caramel rice cakes 😋
Kidney beans - for rice and chicken meal
Baby food dried yogurt bites
Baby crisps - tastes like flavored Cheerios
Spinach
Brown rice
Almond milk - for protein shakes
Low cal flatbread - for quesadillas
Goldfish - my absolute FAVE snack 😍
Shredded cheese - for quesadillas •


That’s all! I don’t eat healthy all of time but I’ve learned it’s so much easier to eat healthy when you don’t have temptations around. I still buy my favorite snacks because it’s about BALANCE and ENJOYING what you eat!!! 🙌🏼

Nutrition was complete 💩 during the majority of my youth.

Pop Tarts & cereal for breakfast, corndogs for lunch, & McDonald’s for dinner with a sleeve of oreos dipped in milk for dessert.

It wasn’t until after I built compassion for myself & took ownership of my actions that I became interested in self-improvement (books, YouTube videos, & podcasts). During this journey, I stumbled across three personal trainers on a podcast (@mindpumpadam, @mindpumpsal, @mindpumpjustin), where one episode created an EXTREMELY pivotal moment in my life.

They were conversing about how nutrition can majorly impact your physical appearance & mental health.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It hit me hard at the time because I was struggling to find purpose while battling depression.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This helped me realize how nutrition was something I had complete control of so I decided to learn more.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ever since, I’ve been a major nutrition geek & have experienced exponential changes with my physical, mental, & spiritual health including overcoming depression, drug addiction, having more energy, building healthier relationships, & feeling more confident in my body.

Fasting, keto, paleo, IIFYM, carb cycling..., it all works & it all doesn’t work.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The differentiating factor is you. Improving your life by using nutrition can be viewed as just that, a way to improve your life.

If the methods you’re trying aren’t improving your life, maybe it’s time to try something new.
