Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick:
The claims by this lipstick are as the following :
*satin and matte finish
*highly pigmented * hydration and antioxidant benefits
It retails for 37$ on their official website. The colour I am reviewing is 52- Rosy Coral.
The packaging is very chic. It is one of the most pigmented lipsticks that I have used in the last couple of years. It glides on like butter but does stick to my odd dry patches on lips. I would suggest exfoliating your lips before you apply this. I would not call it matte. Satinish. It lasts for 8 loooooong hours ( I can confirm) or may be more, but I have never worn a lipstick for more than 8 hours. It also keeps my lips hydrated for almost 4 to 5 hours. I checked their ingredient list to find antioxidants but found nothing on the top 15 of the list. However, somewhere along the middle they have tocopherol and tocopheryl acetate ( vitamin E) , rosemary extract, yeast extract, carrot root extract, ascorbyl palmitate (a stable vitamin c) and retinyl palmitate( a form of vitamin A).So, yes they have included a good amount of antioxidants. Does these featuring lower in list points to lower concentration and hence, decreases their efficiency ? I have no confirmed answer for that. I know it is difficult. I recommend If you trust YSL you can try it for yourself and see if it protects your lips against cold winds, dehydration etc.
*Wide range of shades to choose from
* Not easy on wallet * May cling to dry patches on lips
Verdict: It works hard for me. I will spend my money on it.
