LOVE YOURSELF. PERIOD.
Seriously though, loving yourself really means loving EVERY part of your body, and what your body is capable of doing. We need to talk about menstruation more. We just do. We need to for our children, our partners, our friends and ourselves.
Periods are NOT something to be ashamed of. It is a part of what our bodies do. It's natural. Sure, sometimes uncomfortable. But that doesn't mean it needs to be an uncomfortable topic to talk about! So let's talk openly about our periods. And ALL things vagina and genital related for that matter!! .
Quite a few people have asked if I've tried using a menstrual cup. Well, I can happily report, that after having my baby and getting my first period since, YES, I have now used a menstrual cup! I'd have shown you a picture, but well, it's way up in my vaginal passage right now, so yerrrrr... best I could do was a pic of me with my dacks to the ground. I'm sure ya'll appreciate that.
So the verdict....? Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all my friends... In fact, I've never been so bloody excited that get my period! (See what I did there? 😉). Sure, it's taken a little practice but I have successfully inserted, taken out, emptied and re-loaded this little baby twice now without too much hassle.
Do you use a menstrual cup? What are your thoughts? Have you found it easy or difficult? Do you have any tips? Please, share your thoughts. Let's TALK!!! My cup is for mild-medium flow by the wonderful folk at @lunettecup .
