Nate and I decided to build a tiny house completely on a whim. We were sitting on the couch watching Nextfix and Nate said “We should build a tiny house.” ⁣⁣⁣

I said. “Okay!” ⁣⁣⁣
I was tired of overthinking good things. ⁣⁣⁣
I honestly knew we would do it. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
When we started building I realized how little I knew about building a house.. king stud, nail gun, chop saw. ⁣⁣⁣
I relied on Nate to tell me what to do because it seemed like he had all the experience. ⁣⁣⁣

One day he got frustrated with me because, once again, I had pegged myself as the follower — constantly waiting for instructions. Then I realized that what he wanted and needed was a partner.⁣⁣⁣

I was scared to make decisions because I was afraid to be yelled at and tore down. ⁣⁣⁣

It took me weeks to start fully taking initiative, but when I started taking the lead on projects I felt amazing! Yes, I made plenty of mistakes. So did Nate, but we backed each other up. ⁣⁣⁣

Take responsibility for your mistakes, but don’t let anyone drag you through the mud for making the wrong call. ⁣⁣⁣

Si prefieres #practicar la postura completa con la rodilla apoyada en el suelo, por supuesto, hazlo. The 4th chakra is heart, “Anahata”, means ‘unhurt, unstruck, and unbeaten’ and moves love through your life. It is located at the center of the chest, and is associated with love, warmth, compassion and joy. When the heart chakra is open, there is balance, calmness, and serenity. It is the center of your deep bonds with others, your sense of caring, feelings of self-love, selflessness, kindness and respect.

It took me a long time to fall in love. Seeing how love can be betrayed in my parents’ marriage made an impact. I searched for love early, seeking approval, desperate for affection and getting into unhealthy relationships instead of taking the time to love and respect myself without anyone’s validation. When I least expected it, I found the ‘one’ though was still guarded, trying to sabotage the relationship because I didn’t trust it. I was the ‘flight’ rather than the fight and I am so grateful my husband fought for us. He was there for me no matter what and I learned to be there for him, through the ups and downs, and discovered what love really means. But mostly, I learned to love myself.

That comfort and stability transfers to the love for our children, hoping they grow up to have healthy relationships and be secure with themselves. A big part of why we moved back to my hometown is that I wanted our girls to have a life rooted in love around family and close friends. Letting go of the past, setting a new pattern, all this love work is not easy. And it’s not always perfect, there are hard days, so practicing patience, compassion, acceptance leads to an open heart ❤️ Please share how you open your heart 💕💕

Who else feels that the yoga world is full of opinions these days? Be it regarding the approach to Asana or how one should/should not market oneself or even how a yogi must live his/her life. I guess the trick is to listen, mull over it and get the answer from within. Maybe there is some truth which requires us to change. Maybe there isn't. Either ways, shakes us a bit and makes us think. That's a good thing 🙂
