This morning I was craving avocado toast - like I have been for weeks now! But I'm still avoiding high histamine foods 🤣 sooooo I roasted "cheesy" cauliflower bites added some @followyourheart Gouda cheese melted on top with red onion and one of my favorite Gluten free breads @breadsrsly hit da spot and I wasn't even thinking of avocado at that point! 🤗😋

Still figuring out this low histamine trial. In the mason jar is frozen cooked ground turkey(labeled this batch of jars LH low histamine so I know it was prepped and frozen quickly just in case there are some other jars lurking in my freezer.)
Packed that frozen jar with roasted sweet potato and asparagus. Also packed my @kouzinifoods olive oil mini to add a little extra healthy fat to keep me full. Brought a Granny Smith apple just in case I need it though it is more carb than I am used to. Need to do some shopping soon.

🔹210gr weiche Süßrahmbutter, 50gr Puderzucker, 250gr Dinkelmehl, 100gr gemahlene Mandeln und das Mark von einer Vanilleschote verkneten und zu einer Teikugel formen. Diese Teigkugel abgedeckt ca. zwei Stunden kalt stellen.
🔹Aus dem Teig vier Rollen mit einem Durchmesser von ca. 2,5cm formen und jeweils in eine Frischhaltefolie packen und nochmals eine Stunde kaltstellen!
🔹Nach dem Kühlen aus den Rollen ein cm dicke Scheiben schneiden. Die typischen Kipferln daraus formen Mond🌙🌙😄.
🔹Die Kipferln mit genügend Abstand auf ein mit Backpapier belegtes Blech legen und im vorgeheizten Backofen bei 150Grad auf mittlerer Schiene 15-20min backen.
🔹70gr Puderzucker und zwei Päckchen Bio-Vanillezucker mischen. Die fertigen Kipferl mit dem Papier vom Blech ziehen und in der Zuckermischung Baden 🏊‍♂️ 🏊‍♀️😂😎. Auf einem Rost vollends abkühlen lassen.

‘Simple Apple cake’ the recipe is in the book ‘What HIT me’. It says to use margarine but I think that isn’t appropriate for low histamine so I used butter. I used @lakantosweetener for both, and it tastes and subs just like sugar. I always notch down the sugar a little anyway, and it’s great to have an alternative instead of Stevia, which I find pretty gross in most applications

🔹120gr Dinkelmehl, 100gr gemahlene Mandeln, 100gr weiche Süßrahmbutter (bitte immer nur Süßrahmbutter bei der #histaminintoleranz verwenden 💁🏼) und zwei EL Puderzucker verkneten. Aus dem Teig haselnussgroße Kügelchen formen.
🔹Die Kügelchen mit jeweils 3cm Abstand auf ein mit Backpapier belegtes Blech legen und im vorgeheizten Backofen bei 180Grad ca. 11-13min backen.
🔹Ein Päckchen Bio-Vanillezucker (nur den dunklen -also den „echten“ - Vanillezucker verwenden. Der weiße Puderzucker ist bei der HI nicht gut verträglich, da er stark mit Aromen und Farbstoffen behandelt wird.) mit 50gr Puderzucker mischen .
🔹Plätzchen aus dem Ofen nehmen und direkt noch warm vorsichtig in der Vanillezucker-Puderzuckermischung wälzen.
Fertig! Und so so so lecker! 😍😍😍Aus dem Teig bekommt ihr eine große Menge Plätzchen, die euch sicher bis Weihnachten 🎄 reichen 😬. Außer ihr seid kleine Schleckermäulchen 😋. Viel Spaß beim Nachbacken 🍪🍪😍

This is oh so appropriate for today! Why? Well my doctor told me it’s time to get back on my paleo diet and stop feeding my pain and depression the horrible food I’ve been eating. *On September 4th, I finally got back into my weight range for my height, after several years being overweight and even obese. Well soon afterward, my pain started increasing and depression got worse (way worse), so I ate junk to “feel better.”
*The result? 3 months later, and I’m 12 pounds heavier, and the food only momentarily made me feel better, and actually caused more damage to my body.
*Last night I sat down ordering only organic food from my computer, that I’ll pick up in a few hours. Lord bless Kroger ClickList!! Order online, stay in your car and they bring you your groceries for a nominal fee of $4.95. I can’t shop in any store for very long. I start to sweat profusely, get dizzy, and lose my strength and balance. So yay for this option!
*So while I did order salad 🥗, yes I would rather it be a taco, and corn chips with lots of Queso, because yum! (Salad does not have so much of a yum factor. Seriously delicious slow roasted carrots with thyme, brown sugar, sea salt (and plenty of butter!) now posted on Two Being Healthy {link in bio}! When we both started the low histamine diet we felt incredibly restricted, like basically every one of our favorite foods or comfort foods were now off bounds. We've come so far from then, knowing what foods exactly trigger us and what types of food we can splurge on from time to time while still keeping our symptoms at bay. Carrots are a low histamine veggie, super versatile, and cheap! Enjoy 🥕

Wow, eine Woche ist es schon wieder her, dass ich mich zuletzt gemeldet habe😱. Man man man. Wo bleibt die Zeit?😅Ich habe leider momentan so gut, wie kein Leben, da ich nur lerne lerne und nochmals lerne. Vor meiner Diagnose habe ich mindestens zweimal die Woche zum Abendessen einfach nur frischen, gedünsteten Blattspinat gegessen! War das lecker 🤤 Da das mit der #histaminintoleranz aber nicht mehr möglich ist und ich meinen geliebten Spinat links liegen lassen muss, habe ich lange nach einer Alternative gesucht. Im Grünkohl habe ich sie nun gefunden😍😍 Grünkohl sieht dem Spinat nicht nur optisch extrem ähnlich, sondern schmeckt auch sehr ähnlich 🤤👍🏼. Das Gericht ist super #gesund #healthy , super schnell zubereitet #schnellerezepte und natürlich #histaminarm 😄☝🏽.

🔹Da es bei uns leider gar keinen frischen Grünkohl gibt (im Norden wird das wahrscheinlich anders sein 😅), kaufe ich immer den gefrorenen Grünkohl. Klappt und schmeckt genauso gut. Und man hat das lästige Geputze nicht💁🏼😬. Den gefrorenen Grünkohl in einen Topf geben und unter sachter Hitze auftauen. Etwas Wasser zugießen. Wenn man gar keine Stückchen mehr haben möchte, kann man den Grühnkohl natürlich noch pürieren!
🔹Sobald der Grünkohl aufgetaut ist, mit Meersalz, etwas weißem Pfeffer und Muskat würzen. Einkochen lassen. Zum Schluss mit etwas Biosahne oder Milch aufgießen.
🔹Kartoffeln schälen und in Salzwasser gar kochen. Ich liebe Salzkartoffeln 😍😍 Wenn ihr wollt, könnt ihr die fertigen Kartoffeln noch in etwas zerlassener Butter schwenken 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽.
Uuund: schon fertig 😄🤷🏼‍♀️ Super Sache, oder? 😊 Ich bin wirklich begeistert von meiner neuen Errungenschaften und bin super froh, dass ich eine Alternative gefunden habe.

These Falafels and green sauce are amazing and if you do chickpeas, I highly recommend making some. These really are good and not as hard to make as you’d think. I thought it was a bit intimidating before I made the recipe the first time. .
I’ve tolerated chickpeas better since switching to a diet without meat and dairy which seemed inflammatory for me. I still limit them to once or twice a month, but may slowly increase them back in if it seems ok. I continue to read conflicting news on chickpeas and histamine...so I think I’ll just stick to my gut on this one 😉

When you start to nourish your body and eat real food with NO labels, there is no need to count calories.
I can remember a day when I avoided fruit because I was so low carb, or strict keto, and I even dabbled in no carb! What was I thinking?! I bottomed out my sex hormones and tanked my adrenals and would you believe my gut health actually got worse.
I personally needed to let go of the reigns and follow my intuition, something I ignored for far too long. Food freedom is giving me my health back and is providing for me a strong microbiome. We need an array of foods to feed our microbiome.
Remember WE are what WE eat. When I went low carb keto, and then no carb my gut health worsened and I couldn’t figure out why. I thought I was helping and healing my gut when in reality I was diminishing the good bacteria ! Eat fibre , and the fibre-munching bacteria multiply, and we get more anti-inflammatory, anticancer short-chain fatty acids. Eat less fibre, and our fibre-eating bacteria starve away. Good bacteria—those that live in symbiosis with us—are nourished by fruit and veggies, grains, and beans.
Don’t be afraid of food, use it to heal you and nourish you. My smoothie is full of blueberries, honeydew melon, delicata squash and I did throw in fresh coconut skins and coconut water as its base!

I was wondering what to post this morning... my yesterday lunch or the dinner? I went for the lunch, a quick preparation with quinoa, bell pepper sauce from my summer reserve and pumpkin seeds... all followed up by pomegranate 🤗

Starting Izzy on a low-histamine diet to help reduce the amount of histamine response in her system, hoping this helps with the fight. Simmering chicken and lean beef that has to be stored in the freezer. Lentils, Brown rice, carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli are simmered in the remaining stock. So far she loves everything except that broccoli lol

What’s on your plate this evening ? Cooler temperatures means roasted veggies! (Lots of them!) The incredible flavours of butternut squash, sweet potato, carrots, zucchini, parsnips, acorn squash, fresh spices, real salt and olive oil - roast 400 for approx. 40 minutes. On top i crumbed a veggie burger. Almond milk unsweetened.
@tropeaka chocolate pump protein
Sliced banana
Teaspoon chia seeds
Teaspoon stevia
Tablespoon peanut butter
A couple of almonds !

When I first went on a low histamine diet I read that keeping the skin on your chicken when you cook it made the histamine content higher. Indeed, I noticed my reactions would be a little worse when I left the skin on. However, my nutritionist suggested that I try it again now that I’m somewhat more stabilized since chicken skin is full of really important nutrients. So I recently tried cooking chicken with the skin on and now I seem to tolerate it fine! Just a reminder to be patient with your healing but also to periodically re try things that would add to your healing to see if you can tolerate it now. You may be surprised! Another tip: if you are stressed out that day, don’t try a re introduction.
