Today is the 37th day of my POTS #treatmentseries! Today we'll be talking about a Low Histamine Diet. Use the comment section below to share your experiences with this treatment option. ⬇️ A low histamine diet is more of a therapeutic option for Mast Cell conditions but since they're highly comorbid with POTS, I thought I'd feature it. When I first developed MCAD symptoms, a low-histamine diet was absolutely essential. I didn't need to avoid all high-histamine foods but just the ones I reacted to (that were high histamine). I avoided all high-histamine foods for a few months but didn't notice a difference between that and just avoiding the high-histamine foods I reacted to. Now that I'm on a Zantac & Reactin combo (Zyrtec for my American spoonies), I can eat most of these foods with no problems. I avoid a couple foods that still sometimes give me issues though.
