✏️NOTES:
🌼1A, 2A: The foot on the step does all of the work. Try to not push off the ground, only push through the foot that is on the step.

🙌🏻1B, 3B: Keep your toes slightly elevated, only go up as far as you can keep your ribcage down. Don’t arch your lower back. If you feel Bridges or Thrusts in your lower back, most likely it’s because your ribcage is flared up and you’re hyper extending your lower back.

🤦🏼‍♀️3A: As you’re jumping, keep the weights as close as possible without hitting yourself. The weights should end up directly underneath your torso while you’re in the “jack stance.”

I’m guilty for doing too much cardio and I have definitely cut back substantially.
It burns 🔥 away hard earned muscle which will cause your metabolism to slow down. Not good👎! It took some time for me to realize this when I was strength training and running. Muscle is a powerful tool to keep your calorie burning in check✅! Build it⚡️!

If your goal is to get stronger, lose weight, or look toned, step off the treadmill 🏃‍♀️ earlier than what you’re used to and pick up the weights. Change up your routine a couple of times a week. You should not stop doing cardio ❤️ completely. —
I am set on building my lower body muscles back by doing a variety of glute, hamstring and quad focused exercises. This can improve my strength, speed and power☄️. —

▶Here are my four top leg exercises. They are not necessarily my favourites, ☝️ but they are my staples.

1. Barbell squats
2. Sumo deadlifts
3. Barbell glute hip thrusts
4. Lunges (any variation)

These will hit every muscle in your lower body 🏋 and are critical to building a solid foundation for any other movement.

On the first three, I focus on going HEAVY. That means that no matter what my rep range is, my last rep or two are a struggle. You can see my squat I only do 3 reps (for strength reasons) but my glute hip thrusts I do 10-12 reps (for hypertrophy/vanity reasons). I don't go heavy on lunges because my form crumbles fast and I've had knee pain in the past I want to continue to avoid.

Throughout all of these movements, I focus on mind to muscle. Making sure glutes activate, core is engaged, and I control my speed and range of motion.
