▶Here are my four top leg exercises. They are not necessarily my favourites, ☝️ but they are my staples.
1. Barbell squats
2. Sumo deadlifts
3. Barbell glute hip thrusts
4. Lunges (any variation)
These will hit every muscle in your lower body 🏋 and are critical to building a solid foundation for any other movement.
On the first three, I focus on going HEAVY. That means that no matter what my rep range is, my last rep or two are a struggle. You can see my squat I only do 3 reps (for strength reasons) but my glute hip thrusts I do 10-12 reps (for hypertrophy/vanity reasons). I don't go heavy on lunges because my form crumbles fast and I've had knee pain in the past I want to continue to avoid.
Throughout all of these movements, I focus on mind to muscle. Making sure glutes activate, core is engaged, and I control my speed and range of motion.
