CABBAGE RICE, forget caulirice!! So here's my issue with caulirice...it's hard for me too get it just right. Making sure it's not too liquidy, not too mushy, and it can be expensive and doesn't seem to fill me up much?? Like i always feel i need almost 1/2 a head of cauliflower 😂. .
So last night i thought...i wonder what would happen if i use finely diced cabbage?? I love cabbage, we always have some on hand, and is cheap! Using a cleaver makes dicing it fast, and i made it the smell way i would regular fried rice.
The outcome? I liked it! Does it taste like rice? Well of course not, but then again, niether does caulirice, in my opinion. BUT, this tasted great in place of rice with my #koreanbeef. The beef is just soy sauce, sweetener, and sesame oil.
For the rice i used 100g diced cabbage, 20g diced onion, 20g diced carrots, pressed clove of garlic.
Got a frying pan really hot, put it about 2tsp coconut oil, then added the veggies and kept it all moving to prevent burning. Just like making fried rice.
After a minute or so i added a little salt, soy sauce and fish sauce, since that's what I'd normally use. Stir. Then cracked an egg right into the pan, stir stir stir, a touch of sesame oil, and then plated it up. That's it!.
