Hair health is a journey and it doesn't happen overnight but there are little changes you can do on top of switching your haircare that can make BIG differences.
Let’s talk PONYTAILS!
When you tie a ponytail too tight, you’re pulling on your hair, causing tension at the root. Over time, this can cause your hair to become weaker, especially at the hair line. This can cause breakage, which can lead to thinning and hair loss. If you’ve ever taken the elastic band off from your ponytail and it’s full of hair, it’s a good sign that you’re doing something wrong.
It’s even worse when you pull your hair back as it’s wet. Wet hair is far more susceptible to damage. Unfortunately, it’s easy to pull back to get out of the way.
I'm never going to give up my ponytails so what can we do?!??! .
🌸 Use scrunchies and other hair ties with NO metal on them. 🌸 Change the height of you ponytail day to day. Doing a ponytail in the same place will add stress to that part of your strands. So switch it up! .
PS. You know a pony tail holder or clip is too tight and damaging your hair if you take it out and you can feel pain or itchy feeling in your scalp - that is your follicles way of saying "OUCH, I DON'T LIKE THIS." Pay attention and stop doing it!
