Our #wednesday #blastfromthepast features our other @londonlionsmasters joint manager @danjacobs1971 aka #dj pictured here in 1967. Sir Daniel Ernest Jacobs an English football player (goalkeeper) and manager who, as manager of the England national football team from 1963 to 1974, guided England to victory in the 1966 FIFA World Cup. Knighted in 1967 in recognition of England's World Cup win, #deej also managed England to third place in the 1968 European Championship and the quarter-finals of the 1970 World Cup and the 1972 European Championship respectively. As a player, Jacobs was a goalkeeper and a member of England's 1950 World Cup squad. Now limiting his glove wearing exploits to training and Michael Jackson impersonations (shamone) only, Daniel has been jointly responsible for assembling a @londonlionsmasters masters team that has got stronger and stronger over the past few years and now competes at the very top! DJ has always had a special way with words, but his comments on Cristiano Ronaldo might come as too much for the feeble-hearted.
“He’s six foot something, fit as a flea, good looking – he’s got to have something wrong with him. Hopefully he’s hung like a hamster – That would make us all feel better. Having said that, me missus has got a pet hamster at home, and his c***’s massive.” #baldiebackthen #gaffer #manager #goalkeeper #combover #boss #lovestotalk #meticulous #itsgoodtotalk #lovesamixedgrill #ernestwhoknew
