“I am a sophomore in high school and I have been riding since I was about three years old. I enjoy barrel racing, pole bending, stake races and earning my way to the state finals. I have met a lot of friends over the years gaming on horseback. It’s fun to know people who have the same interest as I do.
My first horse was a big Quarter Horse named Jeb and he was old when he was handed down to me. He was a horse that would follow me around without any lead rope! He taught me to be fearless when I ride because he was such a great babysitter. I won my first buckle in the barrels and poles in the 7 and under on Jeb. When I stepped up to Shorty I had a similar bond with him even though he is a fidgety, qwerky horse. He is not just a horse to me, he is my friend. Living on a place where I can keep animals has allowed me to have pigs too. I raise two pigs every year and take one of them to the fair in the fall, show him and sell him. The pig is a way for me to earn money for college, but riding horses is what I love to do.” #agri.CULTURE #lovehorses #hesmyfriend
