Thurby is supposed to be a day for locals, so why doesn’t it have its own drink? Reporter @bloosemo asked local bartenders what drink they’d like to see as Thurby’s official cocktail (see recipe below). This one comes from @butchertowngrocery: Aviator Shades. Named for a Quiet Hollers song, the drink showcases a Louisville-distilled spirit and has a lower proof with a big boozy taste, said creator Nic Christiansen. "This way you can start the weekend off with a bold drink that will allow you to pace yourself and still have a good time," she said. Photo by Marty Pearl.
