#behindtheseams - a sneak peek of the exciting collaboration between
Brisbane Fashion Designer, Pia du Pradal, and Louise Numina Napananka, an emerging artist from Darwin in the Northern Territory.
At its outset Pia was a little nervous about this project but was greatly encouraged by the former Governor General of Australia, Dame Quentin Bryce, and former Queensland Premier Anna Bligh both of whom fell in love with the designs and the concept of being able to wear something so quintessentially
Numina is the niece of Gloria and Kathleen Petyarre who are very well known artists and significant figures in contemporary Indigenous Australian art.
Pia has now commissioned Numina to paint a series of fabric designs that will be released as part of her collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane.
Pia du Pradal will feature in the McKinney’s Jewellers Group Show on Wednesday 30 August at Old Government House. @piadupradalfashions @piadupradaltheperson @mckinneysjewellers @mbffbrisbane @mercedesbenzau #louisenumina #louisenuminaart #darwin #northernterritory #indigenousart #australianart #piadupradal #brisbanearcade #mckinneysjewellers #mbff #mbffbrisbane #supportlocal #ownit #mercedesbenz #oldgovernmenthousebrisbane
