IF I cling on to an idea of a pose or transition(the way they should or shouldn't be) they almost always seem to elude me. I end up chasing rather than just expressing-piecing together movements and breath second by second is when the practice begins to unfold for me. I just shot this on the first take- I didn't know what I was going to do- I just started and went where my body wanted to. This focus has been key for me moving forward both on and off my mat. I listen to my body and heart and allow them to connect rather than some idea of what is wrong or right in someone's else's eyes. .

๐ŸŒฑDrills for Handstand Lotus *** FULL DISCLAIMER*** This is a really challenging posture and should not be taken lightly! Please stretch and warmup completely before attempting it! Also, those with knee injuries or tight hips may need to pass as it can be dangerous on your knees if you aren't ready for it! Please be mindful and modify as needed!!! .
๐ŸŒฑCarefully place your legs into lotus and then crawl onto your belly and rest your forehead on your forearms. Switch sides. .
๐ŸŒฑThe goal is to be able to keep your knees safe and happy while you come in and out of lotus without using your hands. To practice this come into bridge pose and then walk your feet in towards your hips and come up high onto your tip toes. Place a block underneath your sacrum. Practice crossing and uncrossing your legs into lotus. For me that means flexing my hips to creat a hip crease, then bending the knee of the leg that I am starting with and wiggling that foot into the crease of my hip. Once that is secured crossing the other leg on top using the same sawing/wiggling motion to get in. Once in, flex both feet and keep them flexed. If there is ANY sensation of discomfort in the knees come out immediately and either forgo the lotus completely or stretch your hips a bit more first before trying it! .

๐ŸŒฑTo get used to doing this upside down try it in Tripod Headstand, that way you get used to balancing while getting your legs in lotus.

๐ŸŒฑHandstand Lotus at the wall. Place your hands 5-8 inches from the wall. Kick up to handstand and allow your butt to rest on the wall. Bend deeply at your hip crease and take lotus as described above. Switch sides! .

* Hero Pose
Sit with knees bent & touching together with the legs folded behind you. The tops of the feet should be on the mat. Sit on a block if you can't bring your sitting bones to the floor
* Cowface Pose
From staff pose, bend the right leg & cross it on the floor in front of you so the foot comes to the outside of the left hip. Repeat with the left leg over the right so the knees are stacked. Try to keep both hips on the ground. Repeat with the legs switched over
* Head to Knee Pose
From staff pose, bend the right leg & bring your heel to your groin so your knee is pointing out to the side. Turn to face your left leg & fold forward as you push the right hip back & down. Repeat on the other side
* Sleeping Pigeon Pose
From downward dog, bring the right foot forwards towards your left hand. Have your shin as close to a right angle with your body as you can. Bring the hips to the floor & draw the right hip back & the left hip forward to keep them square. Fold forward & then repeat on the other side
* Half Lotus Forward Fold
From staff pose, bend your right leg & bring your right foot up & over so the foot comes to the left hip crease. Let the right knee relax down to the floor & fold forward over your straight leg. Repeat on the other side
* Lotus Pose
Place your right leg in half lotus first, bringing your heel towards your belly button & the right foot in the left hip crease. Then bring your left foot over your right leg & bring the left foot to the right hip crease. Keep the feet flexed to protect the knee joints & to stop the ankles from bending. Make sure to relax your knees โœจ

Nadi Shodhana, also known as Alternate Nostril Breathing, is a powerful breathing practice that purifies the energy channels in our body (nadis), thus allowing the life energy to flow smoothly and reach further.

Start off by sitting straight in a comfortable position and gently observing your breath, until it settles and becomes stable. Then raise the right hand, close the first two fingers and place the two extended fingers against the left nostril. This will close the left nostril, so that no air can come in. Inhale deeply, receiving, through the right nostrils. Then release the left nostril and without changing the hand, use the right thumb to press and close the right nostril. Exhale through the left nostril, releasing the air until your lungs are empty. Continue inhaling through the right nostril and exhaling through the left alternating the position of the fingers for 20 times. Then pause. Without changing the hand, now change and press the two extended fingers against the left nostril and exhale through through the right. Then press the thumb against the right nostril and inhale... keep inhaling left and exhaling right for another 20 times. Then lay down in savasana for 8-10 min.

If I don't sleep enough, I wake up not in a good mood, i just take the first clothes in my closet, I often do put any make up etc... the sleep is very important for me, and I like to feel energized and fresh in the morning. ๐Ÿ‚
