Did you see a light streak across the sky Saturday night? Don't worry, it was only a rocket launch conducted by Vandenberg Air Force Base. The launch happened shortly before 11pm. The Atlas 5 rocket was carrying a U.S. spy satellite into space. People in Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles and Orange counties reported seeing the rocket fly across the sky, at some points appearing orange as it broke through the atmosphere. Eyewitness @thekevingreene was out shooting a timelapse of the Milky Way last night, and captured this shot from the Los Padres National Forest, north of Santa Barbara. He says "...confusion, amazement and subtle panic rushed through our bodies as it traversed the sky above!" The launch was livestreamed on a website for those who wanted to watch. 🔁: @abc7la . . . #SoCalTravels#Nightsky#LostInLA#MydayInLA#Abc7Eyewitness#RocketLaunch#Satellite#LA#Nbc4You#NbcLA#AbcLA#AbcNews#SoCal#OrangeCounty#Ventura#LosPadres#Nasa#CA
