I will always say that yoga is a practice.
It's not about getting to one place that you're happy with and stopping - like what I used to do.
It's not just for learning some fancy looking asanas and then forgetting everything else. It's not to impress, it's not to boast about, it's a practice. You are always learning and growing and sharing your experience with every other person you come across on this platform and in reality.
Yoga isn't an easy thing to do.
Yoga isn't just for ladies
Yoga isn't only for flexible, young people.
You can practice consistently and always get better. You can take breaks and take a few steps back.
But wherever you are, remember you are and always will be a student, learning every day of your life.

Motivation will get you started but dedication and habit will keep you moving forward

You have to be able to keep going even if sometimes you don't feel like it. You need to know why you started, why it's important and how what you do now will help you late.

I believe we all need rest and sometimes you need some time off to get better. But going by the idea "if I don't feel like it, my body's telling me to rest" is bullshit.
I never feel like working out when I first wake up. But I know it makes me feel good.
It keeps me awake and alert. It makes me feel happier and more relaxed and I feel VERY satisfied with my health after working out regularly (as long as I haven't been eating crap).
Sometimes you have no reason to not go to a workout or not to practice yoga besides you just not feeling like it.
And what you do with that is 100% up to you.
Sometimes I decide not to do it and just have a day off. But more often than not I push through and I have never regretted it.
The only times I really stop are when I know I'm getting sick or I need more sleep.
That's a good reason.
But if I just don't wanna do it right now. That's more like an excuse. And I'm tired of making excuses for myself.

When in doubt, stretch it out 🤸🏽‍♀️
Since the week started I've been feeling a lot better with myself again.
Workouts are already easier and my flexibility seems to be on track once again.
Sometimes you gotta pause and take a few steps back. Just so you can come back better 😉

How do we compare ourselves to others?
I would, of course, say I wasn't skinny enough because all my friends had better bodies than I did when I was growing up. But i also believed I couldn't change it, our bodies were just our bodies, only fat people had a chance, not someone in between like me.
Later it was about me not being taller or fairer or having boys like me.
I was literally always looking at reasons why I wasn't as good as them.
Sometimes I would change little things like how I responded to things, how I carried my school bag, what I would choose to eat, to make myself feel better but it never really made me happier.
Can you relate at all?

So I wrote a little blog post about not trying to live like anyone else does.
Just be you. Just do you.

Sometimes the best way to spend time with the family is with acro 😉
This boy is 12 and very fearless - a quality I need when it comes to flying. He's prop himself up and it's happy readjusting EVERYTHING all on his own while he's already in the air.
I feel like I need to keep practicing with him so that fearlessness never fades

There should be more family based yoga and acro classes in Singapore 😉

•• NO TROUBLE ••

I feel weak and really sore and like I haven't worked out in ages. But point is I still did it.
If anything the flu is one Bitch to recover from. This is maybe the 4th time I've been out cold since I started working out because of the flu and everytime it feels the same when I start again. A week off but it feels like a year 🙃
I get that feeling like my throat is burning up, everything is sore and I wanna sleep for days.
3 days and it's not so bad anymore.
Just gotta keep working hard right 😉

The more I workout the more I need to stretch.
I didn't think of that at first when I added more exercise to my routine. I became tighter, stiffer, I was sore for longer and I hated not being able to bend and fold like I normally could.
And because I was going to F45 instead of working out at home, i didn't immediately have that 30-60 mins after the workout to stretch and flow and relax.
Over the last few weeks I've also realised that not working out does not mean no stretching either.
I've been busy and I've been sick, both weeks I also felt stiff and tired and I hated it. I absolutely hated it.
I'm making it necessary once again for me to stretch - and maybe even put in a whole stretch sesh - every single day before I go to bed.
Let's see how much better it feels 😉

Flowing to some Beyoncé can never be a bad idea.

2 weekends ago I was feeling pretty annoyed with the start of a sore throat and all I wanted was to workout and feel better and get stronger.
What we want isn't always what happens (see previous post 😉) but if we can make the best of it, we should.
A pretty easy flow that day, with some sun to help.
Drink enough water
Eat healthy, Whole Foods
Get out in the sun sometimes (with sunscreen please!)
Listen to artists who inspire you
Flow to their music 😉❤️
