Hello! I get so many questions about how I joined Facebook. I wanted to share 6 facts about my career so far which led me to FB!
1 ) College: Attended the University of Maryland (Go Terps!) and majored in Finance, International Business, and Entrepreneurship. My family hoped I would be pre-med like my sister but surprise - I picked the business school 🙋🏽♀️! 2 ) PwC Life: Interned at PwC and worked there as a management consultant for 12 years! I traveled almost 90%, worked in 15+ countries, and yes the status and points were clutch (especially since I love to travel ✈️)
3 ) Own It: Early in my career, I was told I was too passive and would never move up. As I started moving up, I was told I was too aggressive and needed to "fit in" more. It wasn't easy but I learned to appreciate the feedback, focus on what I did best, and own it. I was the youngest person in my practice promoted to Manager, got my masters from @Columbia while working full-time, and built amazing relationships along the way 👭👫
4) The Leap!: When I found out we were moving to Singapore (for my husband’s work), I decided to quit my job (after 12 years!) Was it scary to leave my job and stable career - yes. Was it worth it?- 💯 %Yes!
5) Startup: Starting my own business is my big big goal and so I decided to join a startup! When I met @LifebyCarol things just clicked. I learned so much working as Director of Marketing Ops for Singapore’s premier fashion rental company @Covetella (and loved getting to wear fabulous dresses 👗)
6) After becoming a Mom, I really focused on what I was passionate about and what mattered most. The mission, company, and people drew me to Facebook. I love sharing my life at Facebook with you (and hope you like my FB foodie Stories as much as I do 😋💖!)
