"Why do I need supplements if I can just eat clean and workout all the time?"
I read this in one of the Facebook groups I’m in:
>>> 1) 🛠BRICKS AND MORTAR🛠: Supplements are called that for a reason. They aren't replacements. They are meant to come along side of the nutrition you get from the food you eat, by filling in the nutritional gaps. But remember if you're not eating it...you're just going without.
>>> 2) ➡️OPTIMAL > BARELY SURVIVING⬅️: It was a paradigm shift for me when I learned that even our touted "daily value" percentages that we read on nutrition panels represent the minimum daily amount to not be deficient in a given nutrient. That means when you hit 100% you're just barely not deficient, and in my nutrition - I'm shooting for optimal, NOT just getting by.
>>> 3) 🛫WIN WHILE BUSY/TRAVELING🚗: Days where I'm out on the road and despite any amount of prep and effort will NOT get the same quantity or quality of servings of fruits and vegetables as I do while at home. Shaking a packet like our Advo greens while on the road absolutely gives me tons of high quality plant-derived nutrition (S/O to phytonutrients 🙌🏽) I would otherwise be going without every time I travel.
